Frequently asked questions
Is there a minimum stay?
Only at certain times of the year, if you check on our booking calendars you will be able to see whether its a two night minimum stay or if the dates you are looking at qualify for a one night stay.
Can I alter my booking?
If you get in touch with us on our email info@tahunabothies.co.uk we will always try our best to accomodate your requests where we can but this is not guaranteed.
Can I take my dog?
Yes, we accept dogs in our Shepherdess's Bothy, there is a charge of £10 per night and we only allow one dog per stay. We do insist that any canine guests are house trained, well mannered, always accompanied and must be on a lead on the outside site areas. We can provide a dog bed and if you need one please advise us of this when you book.
What time can I check in?
You can gain access to your bothy from 3pm onwards.
We operate a self check in system which you will be given information about on booking.
What time do I need to check out?
We would like you to have left the bothy by 10am
Do I have to pre-pay for my stay?
Yes, our policy is a pay in full at the time of booking
Do I need to pay a security deposit?
At present we do not take a security deposit but we do ask that any breakages are reported to us as soon as possible so we can attend to these damages.
What happens if I need to cancel?
We are unable to refund any cancelled bookings less than 28 days prior to arrival.
We would strongly advise that you take out appropriate travel insurance so that you have piece of mind should you need to cancel your stay for any reason within this timeframe.
Can I pay online for my booking?
Yes, we use the secure online system Stripe which accepts all major credit and debit cards
Do we accept group bookings
We will try and accommodate your needs whenever possible and if you are looking to book all three bothies please get in touch with us and we can look as special rates. We don't encourage groups of hens/stags as we dont feel our location suits this and we dont currently have communal areas to host large groups of people.
